This Horizon Europe Cluster 5 topic funds industrial processes and equipment for tandem photovoltaic technology, which is more efficient than conventional silicon cells, in line with the EU's target of 30 GW of domestic solar manufacturing capacity by 2030. The scope covers demonstrating tandem cells with a lifespan comparable to silicon but higher efficiency, interface engineering at industrial scale, and production processes ready for high volume. It falls under the European Solar PV Industry Alliance. The budget is €9.5 million per project, with 3 projects expected, for €28.5 million in total. The expected outcome by project end is TRL 6 to 7.
