This Horizon Europe Cluster 5 topic funds full-scale demonstrations of fully electric shipping — ferries, short-sea and offshore vessels, and inland waterway craft — with improved range and faster charging. The quantitative targets are at least 150 nautical miles of battery-only range (277.8 km for inland navigation) and more than 5 MW of peak power. The scope also covers battery durability and degradation in marine conditions, on-board energy management, and safety guidelines based on EMSA and CESNI standards. The budget is €10.0 million per project, with 2 projects expected, for €20 million in total. The expected outcome by project end is TRL 8.
