This Horizon Europe Cluster 5 topic funds scale-up of Direct Air Capture technology, which removes carbon dioxide directly from the atmosphere, up to a real-environment pilot demonstration. The technical goals are better cost efficiency in the capture and regeneration process, longer-lasting materials, and larger production capacity. The scope requires a full life-cycle assessment of the entire DAC system. The budget is €8.0 million per project, with 2 projects expected, for €16 million in total. Projects must enter and are expected to exit at TRL 7, pilot level or above.
