This Horizon Europe Cluster 5 topic funds new processes and machinery for producing lithium-ion and sodium-ion battery cells, aimed at cutting cost and energy use. The scope covers flexible, modular pilot lines able to switch between battery chemistries, new mixing and assembly systems, and digitalisation of the production line. Projects must support their claimed advantages with techno-economic and life-cycle analysis. The budget is €18.9 million per project, with 2 projects expected, for €37.8 million in total. The expected outcome by project end is TRL 6 to 7.
