This Horizon Europe Cluster 4 topic funds mid-to-high TRL technologies for demonstration missions in Earth observation and satellite telecommunications, in preparation for an end-to-end demonstrator. The scope covers advanced payloads, on-board and ground data processing including AI, and strengthened security for satellite services. Funding is allocated to guarantee at least one winning project in each of three thematic areas — SatCom, Earth observation, and shared building blocks — rather than by overall score alone. The budget is €5.0-10.0 million per project, with 4 projects expected, for €26 million in total. The expected outcome by project end is TRL 7-8, under the space-sector-specific ISO 16290:2013 scale.
